Newsflash from Scotland

Scottish Parent Teacher Council (SPTC) will be holding their annual lecture and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 3rd at the Glasgow Science Centre.
The theme of the lecture is 'Then and now: School, Family and Community Partnerships for Student Success in Education' to be delivered by Dr Joyce Epstein of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore (the main keynote speaker at the EPA Conference in Dublin, June 2013).
Joyce is founder of the National Network of Partnership Schools in the US and an international leader in the field of parental engagement.  The event is being supported by Skills Development Scotland. SPTC is very excited to welcome Joyce to Scotland, and to be part of a new and exciting development for Scottish education, as they work towards introducing Partnership Schools to their schools.

Partnership Schools gives parents associations an evidenced way to support their work towards improving attainment for all, while harnessing the benefits of parent and community partnerships.
They will also be holding their AGM for SPTC members directly before the lecture; it’s a chance for members to give their feedback and hear about newly nominated directors.

Both events are free via this link. For any further information please visit the SPTC website
